What Happened at the NATO Summit 2024?

NATO leaders seemed to leave the summit with deliverables for defending Ukraine.
Have you heard any specific news from broadcast or cable media about the policy results of the recent NATO Summit held this week in Washington? I haven’t. The news focused on Biden’s acuity or lack thereof.
They announced that they agreed to provide Ukraine with a minimum of 40 billion Euros in security assistance next year. They also revealed that the embattled nation will finally receive F-16 fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands, which were promised last year. I believe this is a very good sign that the European nations are taking a stance and taking more responsibility for defending their own countries from Russian aggression. Trump is correct in insisting they step up.
They also unveiled a new ballistic missile defense base in Poland and plans for a new military command in Germany, which will allow European allies to take over responsibility from the United States for training and equipping Ukrainian troops. Yes, I say!!! As we’ve proven in the past, the United States will always have Europe’s back but should not be predominately responsible. It just harbors ill will.
They ended by signing a Ukraine Compact, pledging to continue to supply Ukraine with arms and offering a ‘bridge’ to NATO membership (whatever that means). I take it as a warning to Russia and China.

President Zelenskyy is a brave leader but no saint. His regime does stifle religious freedom and has totalitarian footprints, but we (America) cannot control everyone’s culture. Nor should we. But I see this as a move toward Europe taking more responsibility for themselves. I believe they no longer see the USA as the great savior since the cabal has overtaken our politics. They are right about that.

A final interesting note: the NATO member states that did not endorse the Compact include Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Turkey. Hmmmm. Greece, Hungary, Croatia???? Not good.
