In God We Trust

Our country is broken, and I believe it was about to be lost, but we now have a chance to turn it around. Hate and anger can be found in places it never existed before. People elected to public office and high-profile celebrities have called for their own President to be killed. Our Administration is in an endless war with the media, of which we are all weary. They want to constantly shove President Trump’s bucolic way of speaking down our throats with the misguided purpose of degradation, failing to realize that we actually get it.

 

We’ve had it with the lies and the country is screaming to get back to truth and fairness.  We don’t give a damn about what Trump’s hair color is or who he tweets.  Doesn’t affect our lives one way or another.  What is changing our lives for the better are his administration’s deregulation policies, tax cuts, fair judges being put in place, the Pacific Rim economic strategies in the works…follow Wilber Ross, Secretary of Commerce if you want to hear about policies that really affect our lives.  We are far smarter than the liberal leadership of broadcast media think we are. Fighting the good fight is hard and will always be hard. Some citizens are even trying to change history by cherry picking things they don’t like and “burning the books” about them.  But history is history and we learn from it…or it’s destined to be repeated. In any case, it is an unprecedented time in America.

 

To return to decency for each other, ourselves and our exceptional country, I believe our nation has to return to God. Yes, return to God with the same reverence embodied by our Founding Fathers. This painting of Jesus was done by Akiane Kramarik at age 8, from her humble home in Illinois. She had no professional training. She belongs to no organized religion. She says she is simply “spiritual”. But she did name the painting “Prince of Peace”. I believe it is a miracle painting, and it has always inspired me, reassured me, and comforted me. Instead of contempt dominating our public discourse what if it were replaced with these immortal words birthed with our great nation: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.
